$36.14 - $48.19
“Tribute to Shaheed Bhai Mohar Singh Ji’s family: a tale of ultimate sacrifice during Operation Blue Star in June 1984. Honoring their bravery in defending Sri Harmandir Sahib, this story inspires faith, courage, and devotion to Sikhism.”
This artwork is a heartfelt tribute to the unparalleled sacrifice of Shaheed Bhai Mohar Singh Ji, his wife Shaheed Bibi Pritam Kaur Ji, and their two young daughters, Shaheed 8-year-old Bibi Satnam Kaur Ji and Shaheed 6-year-old Bibi Waheguru Kaur Ji. This Gursikh family gave everything they had during the Indian Army’s brutal attack on Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in June 1984, defending the sanctity of the Sikh faith and Khalsa Panth.
Bhai Mohar Singh Ji, originally from a Hindu family, embraced Sikhi after meeting Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale. Along with his family, he took Amrit Paan (Sikh initiation) and became one of Sant Ji’s closest and most trusted Singhs. Their unwavering commitment to Sikh values and their bravery in the face of oppression made them an inspiration for generations.
When the Indian Army launched its attack on Sri Harmandir Sahib during Operation Blue Star, Bhai Mohar Singh Ji and his family stood steadfast in their positions. Despite overwhelming odds, they refused to abandon their duty. Bibi Pritam Kaur Ji and her young daughters actively contributed to the defense by refilling ammunition for the defenders’ weapons and providing food and water to those fighting to protect the sacred shrine.
On June 6, 1984, Bhai Mohar Singh Ji performed his final Ardaas (prayer) to Guru Sahib, seeking strength and courage. It is said that Bhai Mohar Singh Ji, alongside his wife and daughters, made the ultimate sacrifice by stopping an advancing army tank near the spot where Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji had fallen centuries earlier. Their selfless act halted the tank in its tracks and added their names to the long list of martyrs who gave their lives for Sikhism during the tragic events of 1984.
This heroic family’s story is a testament to their unshakable faith, courage, and devotion to the Khalsa Panth. Their sacrifice serves as a reminder of the resilience and strength of those who stood against tyranny to protect their faith and values.
