This artwork is a heartfelt tribute to Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, a fearless leader who stood for Sikh rights, faith, and the pride of Punjab. Between June 1 and June 6, 1984, under the orders of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the Indian Army launched Operation Blue Star, attacking Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), the holiest shrine of Sikhs. The attack targeted Sikh devotees, including innocent families and children who had come to worship.
Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, along with his Singh warriors, took up arms to defend Harmandir Sahib, the Akal Takht, and the Sikh faith. With unparalleled courage and devotion, he fought against the heavily armed forces and embraced martyrdom for the honor of Sikhism. The Indian Army used tanks and heavy artillery during the assault, destroying the Akal Takht and leaving behind a legacy of pain and destruction.
The attack was not just an assault on a religious site but also on the spirit of an entire community. Thousands of innocent lives were lost in this tragic event. Despite being labeled as a terrorist by the government, Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale remains a symbol of resistance, bravery, and sacrifice for Sikhs worldwide. His words and actions continue to inspire generations to stand for justice and truth.
