This artwork is a heartfelt tribute to Baba Jujhar Singh Ji, the younger son of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who embraced martyrdom during the historic Battle of Chamkaur in December 1705. At just 14 years of age, Baba Jujhar Singh Ji displayed unparalleled courage and devotion to the Sikh faith.
Following the martyrdom of his elder brother, Baba Ajit Singh Ji, he sought permission from his father, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, to join the battlefield. With unwavering determination, he expressed his desire to sacrifice his life for the Sikh faith, truth, justice, and the rights of humanity.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji permitted him and blessed him to fight with bravery. Baba Jujhar Singh Ji then entered the battlefield like a lion, fearlessly confronting an overwhelmingly large Mughal army. Armed with a spear (Neja) and a double-edged sword (Khanda), he fought valiantly, cutting through enemy lines with unmatched skill and courage. His actions were not just a display of physical strength but also a testament to his spiritual resolve and commitment to righteousness.
Despite being surrounded by thousands of enemy soldiers, Baba Jujhar Singh Ji fought until his last breath, sacrificing his life for the Sikh community, its principles, and its future.
