Description
This imaginative artwork portrays the spiritual journey of the elder Sahibzade—Baba Ajit Singh Ji and Baba Jujhar Singh Ji—ascending to Sachkhand (heaven) after their martyrdom in the historic Battle of Chamkaur in 1705. They are joined by their younger brothers, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, who achieved martyrdom at Fatehgarh Sahib. This depiction symbolizes their eternal unity and sacrifice for righteousness.
The elder Sahibzade valiantly fought against overwhelming Mughal forces, defending their faith and principles with unmatched courage. Baba Ajit Singh Ji, at the age of 18, led the charge with unwavering determination until he attained martyrdom. Witnessing this, his younger brother Baba Jujhar Singh Ji, just 16 years old, sought permission from Guru Gobind Singh Ji to follow in his brother’s footsteps. Armed with his father’s blessings and weapons, he entered the battlefield like a lion, striking fear into the hearts of the enemy before attaining martyrdom.
The younger Sahibzade, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji (9 years old) and Baba Fateh Singh Ji (7 years old), displayed unparalleled bravery when they were bricked alive for refusing to renounce their faith. Their sacrifice remains a testament to their unshakable devotion to Sikh principles.
With Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s final blessing of Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh, these martyrs immortalized the Khalsa Panth. Their sacrifices continue to inspire countless generations to uphold justice, truth, and equality.
